2016 Sustainability Awards Finalists

13 Nov 2019

We are thrilled to have been finalists in this year’s Sustainability Awards for our work at Wangal Park.

Wangle Park is a 4.2 hectar park situated in the heart of Burwood, making it the largest park in Sydney’s inner west – bigger than Bicentennial Park. The former brick pit underwent a massive transformation including development of a 2-hectare wetlands.

Glascott Landscape & Civil worked with Burwood Council and Alluvium Consulting to develop the Stage 1. Landscape construction works included design and construction of a vehicle bridge and many boardwalks that meander through the wetlands, an observation deck with signage about the park’s ecology and Aboriginal history, plus supply and planting of 10,000 native trees, shrubs, ground covers and creation of habitat for the local fauna and birds.

The park consists of three wetlands making it a wonderful environmental and cultural recreational and educational space for locals and visitors.

Being recognised in the 2016 Sustainability Awards for this project is humbling.
