Set within Western Sydney Parklands, the Grey Box Gum Dam Boardwalk and Viewing Deck improves access through a sensitive natural area while protecting the environment around it.
Delivered as Glascott’s first project for Western Sydney Parklands, the works involved demolishing the existing structure and constructing a new elevated boardwalk and viewing platform.
Built on concrete piers with a structural steel framework and hardwood decking, the 180m² boardwalk is designed to sit lightly within the landscape while providing a durable, long-term solution.
The project was delivered under challenging conditions, including high groundwater, restricted access and strict environmental controls around the freshwater dam. Careful planning ensured minimal impact to the surrounding ecosystem, with works completed ahead of the Christmas 2025 school holiday period.
The result enhances how visitors move through and experience the site, with the success of the project leading to further opportunities with Western Sydney Parklands.
