To support this initiative, we’re running weekly Toolbox Talks covering key safety topics:
• Week 1: Harmful Behaviours (Psychosocial Hazards)
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards harmful behaviours like bullying and harassment. Through open communication, we ensure workers feel safe reporting any psychosocial risks, fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Week 2: Managing the Risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs)
Reducing the risk of MSDs is crucial in manual labour. We focus on training and consultation, implementing control measures like engineering solutions to minimise risks. Early reporting of potential hazards and injuries is essential.
• Week 3: Preventing Heat-Related Illnesses
As temperatures rise, so do the risks of heat-related illnesses. We’ll educate workers on recognising symptoms, staying hydrated, and administering first aid in extreme heat to keep everyone safe.
• Week 4: Inspecting Lifting Equipment
Safe lifting practices are paramount. This week, we’ll guide workers on how to thoroughly inspect lifting gear and avoid hazardous situations. A real-life case of a fatal accident due to faulty equipment will underline the importance of proper inspections.
By fostering a proactive safety culture, we ensure that safety is a priority for everyone—on every site and in every role—helping protect our people, partners, and the communities we serve.
