Toggerai Park has officially opened in Appin, transforming 17 hectares of former pastureland into a vibrant new community destination for Sydney’s growing south-west.
Delivered by Glascott for the NSW Government’s Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI), the new park provides the Appin community with a place to play, connect, explore and enjoy the outdoors. The project was delivered in collaboration with Benaiah Project Management and Wollondilly Shire Council.
The official opening was attended by NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully, representatives from DPHI, project partners and local media.
Located just north of Appin town centre, Toggerai Park features nature-based play spaces, walking trails, picnic shelters and expansive green spaces designed for the community to enjoy. The park’s design responds to its natural bushland setting, while creating new opportunities for recreation, social connection and outdoor activity.
For Glascott, the project is part of a broader contribution to the NSW Government’s Parks for People program, which is delivering high-quality public open spaces in growing communities across the state. Glascott has proudly delivered two of the program’s projects: Toggerai Park in Appin and George Kendall Riverside Park in Parramatta.
Projects such as Toggerai Park demonstrate the important role landscape construction plays in creating places that support growing communities. From transforming former pastureland into accessible public open space to delivering play, recreation and community facilities, the project will provide a lasting legacy for the Appin community.
